PRPLX’s entitled Fabric Of Space explores the deeper side of the Breakbeat spectre. Clever drum programming as well as going in a bass shakin’ direction, it reminds us of early Bluenote & Speed days but definitely with a modern touch. These tracks are another testament to PRPLX’s love for the Breakbeat. Also included here is the roadtested Taiga track which starts of deep and hypnotic but surprises you with the harsh amen drop, raw synth and dark male reggae vocal, do we hear a R.E.W.I.N.D.? The album will be released in two parts, the first one is a 250 handnumbered edition on 180 gram crystal clear vinyl (with special 75mm labelcopies and innersleeves) including free mp3 download codes and wrapped in a sealbag. Mister M & One87 started out 12 years ago, with a very simple concept, which was creating a top quality Drum ‘n’ Bass event. Star Warz blew up to one of the finest Drum ‘n’ Bass concepts the world has ever seen, this due to top quality line ups, great artwork, a top class venue and a heavyweight sound-system. Star Warz had the honour of hosting various label nights and label’s B-days over the years as a Critical Records night, 31 Records Night, ESP Agency Show Case and 15 Years Metalheadz to name but a few. This time they present to you a 100% old skool edition, headed by Metalheadz honcho Goldie and lots of affiliated artists.

The very same people who started it all back in the ‘90’s and who are responsible for building up the Drum ‘n’ Bass scene as we know it today, will be present at this next edition of Star Warz to bring back that amazing vibe like in those magical days when it all started.

We all know Goldie is no stranger to Star Warz as we were the party that launched the ’15 Years of Metalheadz’ tour. He has a lot of respect for the parties and our crowd as we do for him. Drum ‘n’ Bass just wouldn’t be the same without his influences and all of the gifted artists he broke onto the scene. Who better could we ask to head-line this 100% old skool edition than him!

From the birth of Drum ‘n’ Bass to where it is today, from its transitions from rave to hardcore, jungle-techno to tech-step, UK based, to a global scene and industry, also Doc Scott has seen it all and been there for the entire journey. He founded Metalheadz with Goldie and it was Goldie who gave him his nickname ‘King of the Rollerz’. And off course, there is also his 31 Records, going strong since 1996!

And also Storm has always been one of the most influential DJs within Drum ‘n’ Bass, known for tight mixing skills and an exclusive selection. Affectionately dubbed the ‘First Lady of Drum & Bass,’ she represents Metalheadz at their residencies, label nights and tours as well as countless solo gigs. Having been involved from the very start of the label, Storm’s contribution has been immense and critical in helping to build the reputation Metalheadz has today.

Bailey is a multi award winning radio presenter for BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and long standing resident DJ for Goldie’s label Metalheadz. He’s recorded tracks for many labels including Metalheadz, C.I.A, Roni Size’s Full Cycle and A Guy Called Gerald’s Protechshon. Bailey’s great passion is to be the best possible DJ playing the full circumference of Drum ‘n’ Bass confirmed by a phenomenal tally of bookings stretching around the globe.

With over 15 years since his debut, Spirit is busier than ever and still at the top his game, establishing himself as one of the world’s foremost Drum ‘n’ Bass producer. Spirit is currently working on his 2nd full-length album release, has work lined up with CIA, is returning back to the studio with Digital, and working on new releases for his own label Inneractive which includes the 10th year anniversary compilation.

Randall‘s style has always been fluid and probably always will & changes in his selection have been noticeable in the past couple of years, with more emphasis on “darkside flavas” than before. This can be illustrated crudely by his transformation from AWOL resident to a Metalheadz regular. With his labels ‘Mac II Recordings’ and ‘Step back sessions’, Randall is set to be known as a producer aside from his legendary status as a DJ.

Another name synonymous with Drum ‘n’ Bass is DJ Lee, as his involvement in the scene also dates back to the very birth of the genre. With his productions seeing releases on respected labels such as Metalheadz, 31 Records and his own Atlas Recordings imprint and a glowing reputation as a real ‘dj’s dj’, today he is another one of the most well known and respected figures in the industry.

Promotor One87 is also celebrating his 20th year as dj. this year and for this special occasion, he will be exclusively teaming up with his old time partner Daviz, with whom he played together for many years as the Millennium Kru, old skool indeed!

From Holland we also hail John Doe from the Counter Intelligence label and you can expect to be hyped up to the max all night long by MC’s GQ and Justyce. This night will definitely be nothing less than HISTORIC, so make sure you’re in!

Drum ’n bass herovert momenteel in vogelvlucht alle dansvloeren. Eén van de grondleggers van deze dancestroming was in de jaren ’90 de Brit LTJ Bukem en op zijn Logical Progression label brengt hij al 17 jaar fijne melodieuze drum ’n bass platen uit.

Veertien jaar lang was London de thuisbasis van Logical Progression. Ontstaan in 1995 als een podium voor de sound van Bukem en Good Looking is het uitgegroeid tot een ultieme hommage aan vervlogen jaren. Sinds 2010 is de Melkweg de vaste uitvalsbasis voor Logical Progression. Twee uitverkochte edities waren een feit met legendarische artiesten als Goldie, Grooverider, Fabio, Doc Scott en DJ Storm. 18 mei is de Melkweg weer klaar voor een ‘trip down memorylane’ waar artiesten als Marky. E-Z Rollers, Fabio en LTJ Bukem hun favoriete platen ten gehore brengen.

LTJ Bukem heeft geen introductie nodig, verwacht een strakke mix van zijn Goodlooking label catalogus aangevuld met de “vergeten” juweeltjes. Hij wordt uiteraard bijgestaan door zijn vaste MC Conrad.

Fabio is één van de residents en niet zonder reden. Begin jaren ’90 waren Bukem en Fabio kompanen in Club Speed. Hij introduceerde vervolgens drum& bass op de nationale radio. Eerst op Kiss FM en later BBC Radio 1 alwaar hij nog wekelijks een show presenteert samen met Grooverider.

E-Z Rollers hebben ook een stempel op de drum& bass scene gedrukt. Als JMJ & Richie en Hyper On Experience brachten ze legendarische platen uit. Onder de naam E-Z Rollers zijn ze het bekendst geworden en hebben ze klassiekers als ‘Walk this Land’ en ‘Tough at the Top’ uitgebracht op Moving Shadow. Bukem breekt met een traditie. Alle dj’s die op Logical Progression hebben gestaan waren begin jaren ’90 actief.

Marky behoort tot de generatie die groot is geworden rond de eeuwwisseling. Afkomstig uit Sao Paulo heeft hij, mede dankzij zijn mix skills, zich ontwikkeld tot één van de bepalende artiesten in de scene. Hij bracht Braziliaanse invloeden in drum& bass. Met de track ‘LK’ in samenwerking met XRS en Stamina bereikte hij de top 20 in de UK. Hij draait tijdens Logical Progression de platen die hem hebben geïnspireerd.

Dvirus & MSC deze twee Nederlandse dj’s hebben met hun Subtronics avonden reeds hun naam gevestigd binnen de Nederlandse Drum en Bass scene. Deze avond zullen ze back to back hun favoriete platen draaien.

Geen Logical Progression zonder MC’s. Zo ook op 18 mei want dan zal het podium geheel in Old School stijl bevolkt worden door 3 MC’s! En niet de minste. MC Conrad kennen we als de vaste side kick van Bukem, is Moose sinds jaar en dag de vaste MC van Metalheadz en is Stamina één van de muzikaalste MC’s in de scene. Zij doen de dagen van weleer herleven!

18 mei wordt een unieke en legendarische dag. Voor de doorgewinterde drum&bass fans een niet te missen avond. En zoals Bukem zelf zegt: “The music is still very much alive. Seventeen years ago a lot of doubters said the music, the people, the soul of what we were all trying to create wouldn’t last a year…it’s all a matter of opinion”.

Switch (Shogun Audio / Soul:R), honoured to have Switch (Jesse Weijers) to play at Tempo again, his releases on Shogun Audio & Soul:R are breathtakin’ expect some heavy upfront business!

Adi J (Cheeky Monday), Holland’s prime female drum and bass dj doesn’t need any introduction, having played on every major dutch dnb event (and occassionally for UK’s Renegade Hardware events), tonnight she will bring the ruckus, bring it on!

Mobility (Bassdrive & Scientific Radio), hailing from Amsterdam (The Netherlands) this duo brings some warm liquid drum and bass to melt your brain. Both had guest dj sets at Bassdrive & (Mav’s) Scientific Radio shows in the past. Expect some deep underwater sounds!

PRPLX (Tempo Records), finalizing their upcoming debut “Fabric Of Space” album on Tempo Records in May. PRPLX consists of Fusion & Deepflow, both producers have been active for many years in the dutch dnb scene. Expect some diverse rollers into the deep.

DJ Greg D (Break A Leg), debut performance for Tempo, his sets are full of energetic dancefloor beats ‘n basslines.

SSS & Foxhound, it’s like openening a ‘kindersurprise’ you never know what to expect, two hot upcoming & talented dnb dancefloor dj’s & another debut performance for Tempo.

Fusion b2b Crispy, Crispy (unfortunately not shown on the physical flyer), this guy is currently on a roll with Blendits, check their upcoming event at Perron on April 14th with dBridge as a special guest (+ many others)! Crispy is Blended Bandits resident drum and bass dj. Influenced by the vibes of St. Germain and J Dilla his sets contain elements of funk, jazz and soul, sometimes with a techy feel to it. He values harmonic mixing and knows how to create a right atmosphere for the night. Tonight he will play a b2b set with Fusion, expect some deep beats!

Op 20 april hebben we twee van de beste en meest hardwerkende DJ’s uit de Nederlandse drum & bass scene voor jullie!

DJ Fusion is een levende legende uit Rotterdam. Hij bracht maandelijks met Diffusion (r.i.p.) een vette sound door binnen- en buitenlands talent te verenigen. Wie nog nooit op zijn avonden in het Bootleg DJ cafe is geweest, moet zich eigenlijk schamen! Tegenwoordig gaat hij verder met het geven van grote en kleine feesten onder de nieuwe naam Tempo, daarnaast is hij samen met Deepflow het productie duo PRPLX; hun debut album zal binnenkort uitkomen op Tempo Records, het drum and bass label van Fusion.
Vanavond zal hij zijn beste beentje voor zetten, en brengt onder de naam PRPLX een vette drum and bass set met de allerlaatste producties. Wij zeggen: fris en rollend. Kom dit checken!!

DJ Tyson is een dj uit het kaliber ‘gemene mixmaster’. Deze man is naar onze mening naast superbescheiden over zijn rol in de Nederlandse scene (al meer dan 10 jaar feesten organiseren in en rondom Arnhem), ook nog eens super super super ondergewaardeerd als DJ. Wij weten zeker dat met Tyson on the decks deze editie afgesloten wordt met mega knallers!

Je vertrouwde residents Tagteam Dub en John Doe maken het feest compleet en zullen samen de avond inluiden.

N.E.O. (Near Earth Object), hailing from Utrecht and is better known for his Techno productions on Programm Records, he will deliver a 1995-2000 dnb set.

Aka Elry….yes he’s back! Started out as one of the early and original Diffusion residents back in the day. Expect some hotdeepintelligentvibes from this deck inspector.

Marinoz b2b Reggz, always a pleasure to have this energetic duo from the west coast of Holland, expect some drumfunk and deep dnb rhythmz.

Morty, has his debut on Tempo and this talented dj will bring his warm Bukem-esque sound in these dark cold days.

Maandag 27 januari 2002 staat bij veel film- en muziekfans in het geheugen gegrift. Het Internationaal Filmfestival was in volle gang en na de laatste film dromden de liefhebbers rijen dik samen bij off_corso voor een show van drum & bass-legendes LTJ Bukem & MC Conrad. Eén van de meest legendarische afterparties van het filmfestival was een feit.
Tien lange jaren zijn voorbijgegaan en de tijd is rijp om deze avond eens dunnetjes over te doen.
Op 26 januari 2012 brengt BIRD daarom in samenwerking met LBC en Subtronics de ultieme hommage aan de legendarische maandagavond. LTJ Bukem en MC Conrad zijn wederom de hoofdrolspelers. Tien jaar ouder, maar nog net zo bevlogen, brengen ze een show van jewelste! Dit doen ze niet alleen, ze worden geflankeerd door zowel oude als nieuwe helden. MSC & D Virus waren er in 2002 ook en dragen bij aan het old school-sfeertje. Nieuwe tijden betekenen nieuwe helden. Nymfo en A-Flex zijn daar twee exponenten van. Nymfo als grootste en meest populaire drum & bass-DJ van Nederland (o.a. Lowlands en producties op Metalheadz) en A-Flex als de ‘coming man’ in de scene.
